Police arrests Local government administrator over failed attempt to assassinate Senator Dino Melaye

The administrator of Ijumu Local governmental area of Kogi State, Hon. Taofiq Isa, have been arrested by the Police Special Squad due to the failed assassination attempt on Senator Dino Melaye at hishome in Kogi  on Saturday April 15th. 


According to reports,  Hon. Taofiq Isa was arrested at about 1.30pm local time in Lokoja, the kogi state capital. He was arrested during his visit to the Commissioner for Education within the state, on Sunday 16th April  Tolorunleke.

Dino Melaya had earlier accused the Ijumu local government administrator of having a hand in the failed assassination attempt.

Wilson Inalegwu the Kogi State Commissioner of Police, who confirmed Isa's arrest, said the command was working to arrest those believed to be behind the failed assassination attempt on Dino Melaye. He noted that the command would arrest and investigate anyone suspected to be linked with the case at hand.
