Traditions, custom and norms are what defines us and our nature but sometimes, people abuse this traditional medium by using it as an avenue for violence, oppression, and to cause havoc in the community!! Masquerade celebration ain't bad as it is part of our culture, but, people, especially gullible minded youths now see it as an opportunity for intimidation and bully!! This was the case of this young man lying lifeless along owerri onitsha expressway whose sad occurrence happened in the early hours of today. It happened that this boy was on his way to school, located in ogbaku, a community in mbaitolu LGA along owerri onitsha expressway, being a period for masquerade celebration in this community, one of the masquerade spotted this boy and was approaching him, knowing the violent nature of these fools covering their body with rags(the masquerades), the boy took to his heels and the stupid masquerade started chasing him, in the process to escape from the masquerade, he was crushed to death by an over speeding bus owned by "De young shall grow motors. This is how this innocent boy lost his life, as a result of silly act by some lunatics parading themselves as masquerades under the rights of the gullible minded elders of this community and its not the first time, sources had it that people keep dying every year as a result of this devilish, stupid, violent masquerade celebration....I believe the police and the right authorities will look into this matter and see that this barbaric event is stopped, so that further happenings of this such can be avoided!!!
