Photos: Two 300 Level students of FUTA drown while trying to take selfies on a canoe

Two students of the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) Ondo state, got drowned Saturday 1st July 2017 while taking selfies while on a canoe inside a river in the town. The two students who were both in 300 level, were on the boat as being a part of activities for an entrepreneurial course they enrolled for this semester.

One of the deceased was a student of the department of Project Management Technology while the other was a student of the department of Agriculture and Environmental Engineering.

According to their colleagues, the deceased students joined their colleagues in the boat and were taking selfies when suddenly the boat capsized.

Their remains were first removed from the river. The remaining two students escaped being victims as well because they both knew how to swim. The remains of the deceased students have been deposited at the morgue.
